JAKARTA - The International Court (ICJ) ordered Israel to stop its operations in Rafah, said Chief Justice Nawaf Salam Court.

"The court considers that in accordance with obligations based on the Genocide Convention, Israel must immediately stop its military attacks and other actions in Rafah," the judge said as quoted by ANTARA from Sputnik, Friday, May 24.

Hakim Salam said Israel must ensure unobstructed access to the Gaza Strip for missions investigating allegations of genocide.

Last week, the International Court convened a two-day hearing to discuss additional interim actions against Israel.

The trial ended with a court request from Israel to provide information about the humanitarian conditions in the designated evacuation zone in the Gaza Strip.

More than 35,600 Palestinians have been killed, most of whom are women and children, and nearly 79,900 others have been injured since October last year.

Previously, Israel in ICJ was required to commit genocide.

International Criminal Court Prosecutor Karim Khan on Monday (20/5) said he believed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant bear responsibility for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Palestine, particularly in the Gaza Strip.
