Sad Story Of The Chairman Of The Democratic DPC When Led By AHY: There Are Mandatory Deposits For The DPC And The Factions

JAKARTA - A number of Branch Leadership Councils (DPC) have begun to reveal the reasons for choosing to support the implementation of the Extraordinary Democratic Party Congress (KLB) in Sibolangit, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, Friday, March 5. One of them is the matter of mandatory payments from the regions to the Democratic DPP under the leadership of Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY).

Chairman of the DPC Democrat Wakatobi, Southeast Sulawesi, La Moane Sabara said he supported KLB because he wanted the Democratic Party to return to being a democratic and open party. Moreover, KLB is not something that is haram because it is regulated in the statutes.

"We want the rights and authority of the DPC chairmen to actually run as stipulated," said La Moane at a press conference in Menteng, Jakarta, Thursday, March 11.

One of them, he continued, was the severance of the authority of the DPC and DPD to propose the best regional son to become regional head.

"When we want to propose a cadre to make a regent candidate, a vice regent candidate, all of them have to depend on the DPP, while those who know the democratic process are we the chairman of the DPC," said La Moane.

Apart from that, what was most troubling for the DPC and DPD was the mandatory deposit to the DPP which was considered to be very burdensome for the regional administrators of the Democratic party.

"For example, the DPC is obliged and required to deposit to the DPP, the faction is obliged to deposit to the DPP. How do you want to expand the region if this system is like this? So, we want an KLB because through the KLB everything is returned as happened when this Democrat was established," he said.

To that end, La Moane invited all DPC and DPD chairmen to come together with the newly elected chairman to raise the Democratic Party.

"To the DPC who are still in doubt, let's join this KLB. Together, the future is better under Moeldoko's leadership," said La Moane.
