DJ Who Abused Childhood For One Year Threatened 15 Years In Prison

JAKARTA - North Jakarta Metro Police investigators stated that a father with the initials DJ (52) could face 15 years in prison for sexually abusing his biological daughter.

DJ committed an act against his 17 year old son at his residence in the Koja area, North Jakarta.

Head of the North Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit AKBP Dwi Prasetyo said the case was revealed when the victim's mother reported the suspect DJ to the North Jakarta Metro Police Women and Children Service Unit (PPA), Saturday, March 6.

Dwi added that the suspect had now been arrested by a member of the PPA Unit led by AKP Andry Suharto on Monday, March 8, or two days after the report.

"Our suspect is ensnared with Article 82 of the Child Protection Law and carries a sentence of 15 years in prison," said AKBP Dwi in Jakarta as reported by Antara, Wednesday, March 10.

At the time of the arrest, the Head of the PPA Satreskrim, North Jakarta Metro Police AKP Andry said that the suspect had packed clothes in a suitcase to prepare to escape.

"When we made the arrest, the perpetrator had put his clothes on to escape. But it didn't work. We caught him before he fled. The plan was for the perpetrator to flee to Java," said Andry.

When questioned by investigators, the suspect DJ confessed that his actions were committed when the victim was alone at home.

"I did that when the house was quiet. My wife worked from 07.00 to 23.00 WIB at night and just came home. I was both (with the victim)," said DJ.

He also admitted that the unfortunate incident was carried out many times, over the course of a year, from the time the victim was still in grade 1 of Vocational High School to turning in Grade 2 of Vocational High School.

The suspect also imposed coercion if the victim ignored his desires. He only stopped when the victim was menstruating.

This action was only revealed a year later since the victim ventured to complain about the incident to her mother.

At that time, his mother, who was still working, immediately rushed home to accompany her daughter to report her father's obscene acts to the North Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim PPA unit.
