COVID-19 Update As Of March 10: New 5,633 Cases From Examination Of 93,016 Specimens

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 93,016 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 5,633 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1,398,578 people and 144,213 active cases," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Wednesday, March 10.

Cases recovered today increased by 5,556 cases, so that a total of 1,216,433 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 172 people and the total was 37,932 people.

The province with the most new cases is in West Java with 1,570 cases and a total of 227,496 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 1,040 new cases with a total of 354,115 cases. East Java has 399 new cases and a total of 133,289 cases. Then, Central Java has 304 new cases and a total of 159,811 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to West Java with an increase of 1,245 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an additional 827 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 645 recovered cases, and East Kalimantan with an additional 451 recovered cases.

There are two provinces that reported no new cases as of today. The provinces that reported zero new cases were Aceh and West Sulawesi.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 11,358,653.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or the positivity rate today amounted to 17.43 percent," he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 63,128 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, currently there are 3,574,698 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 1,262,878 vaccines for the second dose. Meanwhile, the total vaccination targets reached 40,349,051 people.
