JAKARTA - Member of Commission II of the DPR NasDem faction Aminurokhman, highlighted the plan of the elected President and vice president, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, which will increase the number of ministries of institutions from 34 to 40. Amin assessed that the policy plan must be carefully considered. He also reminded about the effectiveness of the ministry that was added.

"Regarding the plan of the ministry, this institution that was formed must be based on the government's own needs," Aminurokhman told reporters, Wednesday, May 15.

According to him, the plan must be adjusted to the President-elect's vision and mission. Because, he said, it is the president who knows best what the additional number of ministries of the institution is.

In addition, Amin continued, the formation of a new ministry must also be based on comprehensive and proportional considerations. This is so that the ministry's performance is effective and the main duties and responsibilities of the ministry can run without overlapping.

"The effectiveness of the institution must remain a reference in considering the number of ministries of institutions," he said.

Regarding the view of power distribution in the midst of the discourse on adding ministries, Amin assessed that the president was given the prerogative to appoint his assistants. Of course, based on existing institutional functions.

"As long as it can be a proportional need and can run effectively and productively to realize the country's vision and mission, I think the public must also understand that," Aminurokhman concluded.
