The Office of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) of Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara, said that a prospective pilgrim from the area failed to leave for the Holy Land during the Hajj season 1445 Hijri/2024, because she was pregnant.

"A prospective hajj candidate is about two months pregnant, during the last health check," said Head of the Hajj and Umrah Organizing Section (PHU) of the Mataram City Ministry of Religion H Kasmi on the sidelines of releasing pilgrims for flying group (kloter) 1 Lombok Embarkation in Mataram as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, May 11.

The cluster 1 is a complete group of Mataram City, which is 393 people.

According to him, the congregation who was declared pregnant after receiving a statement wasitation and paid off the cost of the pilgrimage (Bipih).

Unfortunately, a few months after paying Bipih, another thorough medical examination was carried out and it turned out that the congregation was about eight weeks pregnant.

"Thus, the departure concerned this year was canceled and replaced by the congregation on the reserve list," he said.

Kasmi said that although this year the congregation canceled their departure, next year he will be a priority in the regular quota.

"This pregnant prospective hajj candidate happens to have left alone, without a husband. So, when he found out he was pregnant and was declared canceled, he accepted the provisions," he said.

Kasmi said that the total number of Hajj candidates for Mataram City in 2024 was 669 and 10 officers added, bringing it to 679 pilgrims.

Of the 669 prospective pilgrims, there were 183 men and 210 women. In addition, 144 elderly people, 282 were categorized as high risk (crystal) or 73 percent, and 103 people (27 percent) were non-crystals.

Pilgrims from Mataram City are divided into two groups, namely 393 Lombok Embarkation groups, and 286 Lombok Embarkation groups.

After the release of 393 prospective pilgrims, the congregation went straight to the Hajj Dormitory on the South Ring Road in Mataram City, and will be flown to Madinah Airport on Sunday (12/5) at around 9:45 WITA.

Meanwhile, as many as 286 prospective Hajj candidates for Mataram City, batch 7 are members of the congregation of Central Lombok and West Lombok regencies, are scheduled to enter the dormitory on Sunday (19/5), and be flown to the Holy Land of Medina on Monday (20/5).

"We hope that the congregation can continue to maintain their health so that they can carry out all the pillars of mandatory and sunnah Hajj and become a prosperous pilgrimage," he said.
