Expert: Formation Of A New Ministry Of Constitutional Welfare

JAKARTA - Constitutional law expert from the Indonesian Muslim University Fahri Bachmid said the formation of a new ministry that was discussed by the Prabowo-Gibran Prabowo-Gibran cabinet

"Changes in the nomenclature or formation of a new ministry with certain nomenclature can be made after the president takes the oath/promise," Fahri said in a written statement in Jakarta, Friday.

He explained that the change or formation of the new ministry could be carried out by revising the law on amendments to Law Number 39 of 2008 concerning the Ministry of State.

According to him, the constitution has determined that the president as the holder of government power, in carrying out his duties, is assisted by state ministers in charge of certain matters in the government sector.

"The constitution has anticipated changes in the affairs of the state government in the future," he said.

In addition, the constitution opens up the possibility of the president to organize and adjust the needs of the ministry's institution which is considered relevant according to the development and dynamics of legal needs and state administration.

"Changes to the UU of the Ministry of State and the policy of structuring the presidential cabinet in Indonesia are a necessity of state administration," he said.

Previously, Chairman of Commission II of the DPR RI Ahmad Doli Kurnia said that the revision of the Law on Amendments to Law Number 39 of 2008 concerning the Ministry of State was needed so that the Indonesian people would follow the times.

According to him, the Ministry Law has been implemented since 16 years ago, even though Indonesia in the last 16 years has far developed and the world is progressing.
