JAKARTA - The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police stated that the ticket confirmation scheme through the WhatsApp (WA) short message application would be temporarily suspended. "Yesterday, a team from Polda Metro had been summoned to explain inference that the application was temporarily suspended, so it was stopped to conduct an assessment first," said Head of Traffic Police Inspector General Aan Suhanan to reporters, Thursday, May 9.

While in the assessment process, the scheme will be subjected to a test penetration. The goal is to ensure safety if implemented. This is because later there has been a fraud that sent a ticket confirmation letter in the form of an Android Package Kit (APK) format.

"We will also carry out pen tests, penetration tests. So that this application is really safe. No one can penetrate it, therefore we will penetrate the application carried out at Polda Metro," he said.

If the penetration of the test scheme is considered quite good, it will be resumed. In fact, it is possible to apply it at the national level.

"If after the assessment, then the pen test (the results) pass, then we will raise it into a national application. But if we don't pass the assessment, we will fix this test pen again," said Aan.

Previously, it was reported that the Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of the Polda Metro Jaya had changed the ticket confirmation scheme which is now via the WhatsApp short message application. Thus, the ticket confirmation letter is no longer sent to violators through the post in the form of physical copies.
