The District Attorney (Kejari) of North Kolaka (Kolut) of Southeast Sulawesi has detained three suspects in connection with the alleged corruption case of maturation and provision of land for the North Kolut Regency in 2020-2021 which was built with a budget of around Rp41.1 billion.

Head of the North Kolut Prosecutor's Office, Henderina Malo, said that the determination of the three suspects was carried out in 2023 after an audit was carried out by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), which found state financial losses of Rp7.7 billion.

However, after another audit involving experts, it was found that state losses rose to Rp9.8 billion.

"The three have the initials J as the Budget User Authority (KPA), SL as the Commitment Making Officer (PPK), and JM as the implementing contractor," said Henderina Malo as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 8.

The three suspects were detained at the Kendari Class II State Detention Center (Rutan).

"The detention of a suspect or defendant is proof of the dedication, professionalism, and commitment of the Prosecutor's Office in fighting corruption," he said.
