JAKARTA - The Basarnas Kendari search and rescue team evacuated 4 fishermen who had an accident. Their boat capsized and was hit by high waves in the waters of Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi (Southeast Sulawesi).

The head of Basarnas Kendari, Aris Sofingi, said that his party received a report on the incident on Monday, March 8 evening at around 23.03 from the victim's family named Hasbi.

"We received information from Mr. Hasbi, the victim's family who reported that at 21.43 Wita a longboat with four POB (person on board) overturned due to bad weather around Kolaka waters," said Aris in a written statement reported by Antara, Tuesday, March 9. .

Since receiving the report at around 11:20 p.m. local time, his party sent a rescue team from the Kolaka SAR Post to the accident site (LKK). Where the distance between LKK and the Kolaka SAR Post is about 4.3 nautical miles

"The team departed using a rescue truck carrying a rubber boat and other safety supporting equipment to provide SAR assistance," he said.

It is known that the four victims named Ifan (38), Iksan (29), Angga (35) and Sargius (40) were residents of Kolaka Regency. He explained that the joint SAR team managed to find 4 survivors at 00.05 WITA approximately 1.57 nautical miles northeast of LKK who were then evacuated to Kolaka port.

"With the discovery of 4 victims, the SAR operation was completed and closed," said Aris.

The search for victims also involved 7 rescue personnel from the Kolaka SAR Post, 1 Polair Kolaka personnel, 1 Kolaka KP3 Police personnel, 1 KUPP Kolaka Harbormaster personnel, and 2 personnel from the USN Kolaka SAR UKM.
