Rumah DP Rp.0, Anies' Ambitious Program That Challenges Cheap House Rentals Ahok: Failed By Legal Obstacles

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Yoory Corneles Pinontoan as a suspect. The inactive Sarana Jaya Managing Director is suspected of being involved in the markup for the purchase of land for the down payment program (DP) for Rumah DP Rp.0 Provincial Government of DKI by BUMD (Regionally-Owned Enterprises) DKI Jakarta.

Social media activist Denny Siregar also opened his voice in this case. According to him, the Rumah DP Rp.0 is an ambitious program for Governor Anies Baswedan which has not run optimally until now.

The program that was predicted to be a 'competitor' for cheap house rental, which was announced by Basuki Tjahaja Purnama aka Ahok, only less than 1000 houses were realized.

"The development target (Rumah DP Rp.0) house is 232 thousand housing units but that is only a target. In fact, Anies Baswedan has successfully built less than 1000 houses in the past 3 years, far from the target", said Denny as quoted from the CokroTV Youtube channel, Tuesday, March 9.

According to Denny, the problem lies with the home buyer. This is because a new house is built when the bank has passed the prospective buyer. To get to that stage, of course, there are several procedural requirements that banks require from prospective buyers, for example, a fixed monthly income.

"Well, this is the problem. The average target of Anies Baswedan's Rumah DP Rp.0 program is poor people who also do not have a fixed income. So how can they pass the requirements requested by the bank?", explained Denny.

In contrast to the Ahok era, which carried the concept of cheap rental of IDR 300 thousand for underprivileged residents. With qualified facilities, residents don't have to bother buying a house like Anies's plan.

"If, for example, they suddenly cannot afford to pay because they are no longer able to work, for example, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will pay for that month. Ahok's house facilities are also filled with everything from refrigerators to gas stoves", said Denny.

With more than a year remaining as the governor of DKI Jakarta, Denny said that Anies' project was a complete failure because the construction of Rumah DP Rp.0 had only reached 1000 units of the target of 232 thousand units. "It is very far from the realization target", said Denny.

The KPK previously confirmed that it was conducting investigations on alleged corruption cases in the purchase of land in several locations for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's Rumah DP Rp.0 Program by DKI Jakarta BUMDs.

KPK Spokesman for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri said that his party was investigating this case after finding two pieces of evidence that were sufficient to establish a certain party as a suspect. The KPK appointed a Head of BUMD in this case.

Chairman of Commission B for the Economy of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Abdul Aziz, confirmed the news that an initial YC as the President Director of BUMD DKI Jakarta was a suspect at the KPK.

The KPK named YC as a suspect related to corruption in the purchase of land for the construction of Rumah DP Rp.0 in Pondok Ranggon and Munjul, Cipayung, East Jakarta.
