JAKARTA - Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas returned to Saudi Arabia to check the final preparations for Hajj services in the holy land ahead of the departure of prospective pilgrims starting on May 12, 2024.
"I went to Saudi to see the final preparation of the service for Indonesian pilgrims. I will do the checks in Makkah, Medina, including the preparation of services in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina," said Minister of Religion Yaqut, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 7.
The Minister of Religion flew on May 7, 2024 in the morning. He is scheduled to be in Saudi for four days and return to Indonesia on May 11, 2024.
According to Yaqut, his party will hold a meeting with the community to update a number of service preparations whose provision is their responsibility.
Yaqut will also ensure a number of mitigation measures so that services run smoothly and last year's events do not happen again.
"Both in Makkah and Medina, we will check the readiness of hotels and congregational consumption. We will also see the readiness of the prayer bus terminal in Makkah, both in Syib Amir and Ajyad," he said.
Before the pilgrims arrive in Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Religion will dispatch Saudi Arabia's Hajj Organizers (PPIH) 1445 H/2024 M.
