BANDUNG - Acting (Pj) Mayor of Bandung Bambang Tirtoyuliono said he had no intention of advancing in the 2024 Bandung City Pilkada contestation.

"I said I didn't think about going forward at the election. I am a bureaucrat," said Bambang in Bandung, West Java (West Java), Monday, May 6, confiscated by Antara.

He conveyed that he preferred to be an ordinary citizen when he retired rather than running for mayor of Bandung.

"I want to retire but I still don't want to run for office, just want to farm," he said.

He admitted that there are several political parties that want to run as candidates for mayor. However, he still has no intention of running.

"Many are teasing, but I still won't run," he said.

Furthermore, Bambang asked all parties to respect and support the implementation of the 2024 Bandung Mayor and Deputy Mayor Election (Pilwakot) which is scheduled to take place next November.

"We have to support it so that it runs safely and conducively and later the chosen one will really be what the community wants," he said.

As the number one person in the city of Bandung, he prefers to continue the many programs that have been planned and will be completed until the end of his term as mayor during this period.

Bambang Tirtoyuliono himself was appointed by the Minister of Home Affairs as Acting (Pj) Mayor of Bandung on September 7, 2023.

In addition, he is also the Head of the West Java Province Highways and Spatial Planning Service (DBMPR) since 2021.
