SOLO - Surakarta City will relax several regulations related to the imposition of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) that were imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"There are several regulations that we have relaxed because the good news is Solo does not have a red zone, an orange zone, but health protocols remain", said Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka in Solo as quoted by Antara, Monday, March 8.

Although some easing has been made, Gibran emphasized that the imposition of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) will still take place.

"Our vaccinations are fast. So we want the economic recovery to be accelerated. Tomorrow I will sign it (a circular)", he said.

According to Gibran, one of the things that will be done is the opening of cinemas in malls that were closed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Apart from that, the Municipal Government of Surakarta will also re-open wayang orang and ketoprak performances.

"What is clear is that it is now under control, but health protocols are still tightened. It's not that we are easing, we keep tightening. Our vaccinations are also running", he continued.

Regarding the COVID-19 vaccination, Gibran said that the Surakarta City Government is still doing it. Based on data from the Surakarta City Government, last week thousands of traders from several traditional markets have followed the vaccine.

Previously, the Head of the Surakarta Health Service (DKK), Siti Wahyuningsih, said last week that 600 traders had received the vaccine, including Gede Market.

Then Harjodaksino Market 380 traders, Depok Market 500 traders, Legi Market 300 traders, and Klewer Market 2,400 traders.

"For the elderly group there are 4,670 people, if you add RSBK, you should add 580 people", said Siti.
