COVID-19 Cases As Of March 18: 227 Positive, 11 Healed, 19 Died

JAKARTA - Government spokesman for the handling of COVID-19, Achmad Yurianto announced an increase in the number of cases of the corona virus or COVID-19. On March 17, there were 172 positive cases, today it has increased significantly to 227 positive cases.

"As of March 18 at 12.00 WIB, there are an additional 55 positive cases," Yuri said in a press conference at the BNPB Building which was broadcast live via YouTube, East Jakarta, Wednesday, March 18.

The most additional positive patients were in DKI Jakarta with 30 cases. Furthermore, positive patients in West Java added 12 cases, Banten 4 cases, Central Java 2 cases, Yogyakarta 1 case, North Sumatra 1 case, Lampung 1 case, Riau 1 case, and East Kalimantan 1 case.

Then, there were two positive cases that were identified through the process of epidemiology and independence. They were not patients of any hospital before.

Furthermore, the number of positive case patients who have turned negative because they have recovered and can be discharged is 11 cases. "1 case in Banten, 9 in Jakarta, and 1 in West Java," he said.

Furthermore, there was a significant increase in the number of corona cases who died. After several days it was reported that there were still 5 deaths, Yuri stated that there was a data collection problem. Since March 12, several hospitals have not reported any patients who have died.

"The total number of cases who died currently is 19," he said.

In details, 12 patients died in Jakarta, 2 in Central Java, 1 in Bali, 1 in Banten, 1 in West Java, 1 in East Java, and 1 in North Sumatra.
