Constitutional Court Session, PPP Voice Claimed To Move To Garuda Party In 3 North Sumatra Electoral Districts

JAKARTA - The United Development Party (PPP) claims that its vote acquisition has moved to the Garuda Party to fill candidates for members of the DPR RI of North Sumatra Province in 2024 in the Election Areas of North Sumatra 1, North Sumatra 2, and North Sumatra 3.

This was revealed by PPP Moch's attorney. Ainul Yaqin at the preliminary examination of the 2024 Pilleg General Election Result Dispute (PHPU) at the Constitutional Court Building, Jakarta, quoted by ANTARA Thursday, May 2.

The trial which was held at panel one was chaired by the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Suhartoyo as chairman of the panel and accompanied by Constitutional Justices Daniel Yusmic P. Foekh and M. Guntur Hamzah. Valid as the Petitioner is PPP and the Respondent is the KPU.

Ainul explained that based on the competition for PPP votes with the Garuda Party, there was a difference between the party version and the KPU version in the three electoral districts.

"There has been a transfer of votes from the Petitioner to Garuda Party as many as 4,987 in the North Sumatra 1 electoral district," he said.

In the North Sumatra 2 electoral district, he continued, there was a transfer of 5,420 votes and in the North Sumatra 3 electoral district there were 6,000 votes.

He said the vote was due to a miscalculation by the KPU so that the Garuda Party's vote, which initially numbered tens to hundreds of votes, jumped to thousands of votes.

"The applicant's vote transfer illegally to the Garuda Party continues until the recapitulation at the national level as stated by the Respondent in KPU Decree No. 260 of 2024 which was announced on Wednesday, March 20, 2024," he said.

For the transfer of votes, PPP has submitted an objection to the Bawaslu at the provincial level so that according to them there is sufficient basis and legal reason for the Constitutional Court to grant their request.

In its petitum, PPP requested that the Constitutional Court cancel KPU Decree Number 360 of 2024 as long as the results of the 2024 DPR RI Election in the North Sumatra 1 electoral districts, North Sumatra 2, and North Sumatra 3.

PPP also asked the Constitutional Court to determine the correct results of the PPP and Garuda Party votes for the 2024 DPR RI elections in the North Sumatra 1, North Sumatra 2, and North Sumatra 3 electoral districts according to the party.

Another PPP attorney, Dharma Rozali Azhar, explained that based on his party's calculations, in the North Sumatra 1 electoral district, the correct PPP votes were 48,978 votes, while the Garuda Party was 20 votes.

For the North Sumatra 2 electoral district, the correct PPP votes were 16,042 votes, while the Garuda Party had 200 votes. In the North Sumatra electoral district 3, the correct PPP votes were 44,425 and the Garuda Party had 155 votes.
