Online Gambling Headquarters Raids In Tangerang, Management Of 'cuaca77' Sites Automated IDR 10 Billion

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya raided three online gambling bases in the Teluk Naga area, Tangerang Regency. They run gambling on the weather site 77.

"These perpetrators did online gambling using a website called the 77 weather," said Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Wira Satya Triputra, to reporters, Tuesday, April 30.

On that site, the perpetrators provide various types of gambling games such as slots, sports, live Casinos, shooting lots of fish or lottery, e-games, and cockfighting.

People who want to play must register and deposit their money as a bet capital.

"Using several banking accounts and e-wallets for the players so that they can deposit, and by operating the online gambling game," he said.

In disclosing this online gambling base, 11 people were named as suspects. They play the role of managers to customer service.

Wira also said that online gambling turnover was very large. They can pocket tens of billions in just four months.

However, regarding how long the official online gambling site for 77 is said to be still being investigated.

"Since the operation of these online gambling managers, we have tried to calculate the turnover achieved for approximately 4 months, reaching Rp. 10 billion," said Wira.

The suspects were charged with Article 303 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 45 paragraph 3 junto Article 27 paragraph 2 of Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning the second amendment to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Transaction Information and Electronics, and/or Article 3, Article 4, Article 5 junto Article 2 paragraph 1 letter T and Z Law Number 8 of 2010 concerning the Crime of Money Laundering.
