Update On COVID-19 As Of March 5: Recovering Patients Continue To Increase

JAKARTA - It has been a year since the spread and the first case of the COVID-19 outbreak hit Indonesia.

The number of confirmed cases of the virus continues to increase every day both in Indonesia and globally.

Even so, the world is already breathing a little easier. Because at this time, a COVID-19 vaccine has been found which is expected to be able to tackle a pandemic outbreak for the inhabitants of the earth.

Based on data quoted from the official website covid19.go.id, the addition of cases in the last 24 hours has been confirmed as many as 7.264 cases. Thus, the number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia as of Friday at 17.00 p.m. local time, has reached 1.361.098 cases.

Meanwhile, the number of recovered patients in Indonesia was 1.176.356 patients. Of these, it shows that patients recovered in Indonesia continue to experience an increase, reaching 85.3 percent. And a total of 36.897 patients died.

For the spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia, the highest cases of COVID-19 are still led by the province of DKI Jakarta with a total of 345.816 cases. The addition of new cases in the last 24 hours was 2.009.

Followed by the second rank by West Java Province with the number of cases reaching 218.154 cases and the addition in the last 24 hours reaching 1.731 cases. The third rank is Central Java Province with the number of cases 155.808, the increase in the number in the last 24 hours was only 591 cases.

The addition of COVID-19 cases which is still high in the country, causes Indonesia to still be ranked the highest in Southeast Asia and is ranked at 18th most COVID-19 cases in the world.
