Megawati-Prabowo Never Meet, Idrus Marham: Not Because Of Differences But Strategy Problems

JAKARTA - Golkar Party politician Idrus Marham believes that the meeting of the PDI-P Chairman (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri and the presidential candidate who won the 2024 presidential election who is also the chairman of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, will definitely occur. However, both of them are considered still formulating strategies.

"I want to say that they have not met is not a matter of different ideologies, not a difference in concepts but a strategic issue," Idrus told reporters in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, Friday, April 12.

Idrus believes Megawati and Prabowo are still waiting for the right moment. Moreover, the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Election Winning Body (Bappilu) of the Golkar Party is sure that there are parties sent by the two to communicate.

The party, continued Idrus, could be like the Speaker of the DPR, Puan Maharani, who also serves as Chair of the PDIP DPP and the Deputy Speaker of the DPR as well as the Daily Chair of the Gerindra Party, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad.

"Therefore, I have confidence that it is only a matter of time and the momentum problems of these figures, especially Prabowo and Mbak Mega, they will definitely meet," he said.

As previously reported, the plan to meet Prabowo and Megawati was widely heard, especially during Eid al-Fitr. PDIP DPP chairman Puan Maharani is said to be a bridge.

Meanwhile, when confirmed, Puan did not comment much. He only said that he wanted to celebrate the moment of Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri first.

"It's complicated first," said Puan at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, April 4.

Puan also only answered briefly about the news that the meeting would be held after Eid. "God willing," said the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
