SPKLU Rest Area KM 57A Japek Toll Road Records Highest Transactions Of Up To 1,323 KWh

In order to pamper travelers using EV electric vehicles (Electric Vehicles), 1,299 units of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) in 879 locations of homecoming routes are ready to serve electric car users throughout Indonesia for 24 hours.

The highest transactions are found at SPKLU Rest Area KM 57A, and for Non Rest Area SPKLU is found at SPKLU UID Jakarta Raya.

Transactions in the use of SPKLU by the community increased significantly. The number of SPKLU transactions in the Rest Area during the Lebaran 2024 Homecoming period increased 5 times compared to the 2023 Eid Homecoming, as was the case with the Consumption of SPKLU Electricity also increasing to 5.2 times.

"Based on the PT PLN (Persero) report for the SPKLU Rest Area Category, the highest transactions were found at the KM 57A Rest Area SPKLU of 1,323 KWH, and for Non Rest Area SPKLU contained at SPKLU UID Greater Jakarta amounting to 4,632 KWH," said Head of the Communications, Public Information Service, and Cooperation (KLIK) Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Agus Cahyono Adi in Jakarta, Tuesday 9 April.

Agus added that the increase in EV users who go on the Eid homecoming holiday has also been predicted by the Ministry of Transportation. There are 4000 EVs that are projected to participate in the 2024 Eid Homecoming. Based on the realization until April 7, 2024, there are more than 2500 EV users who are going home and will continue to grow.

Meanwhile, PT PLN (Persero) is ready to serve 2024 Eid travelers who use Electric Vehicles (EV). Compared to Eid 2023, SPKLU is only available in several Rest Areas, but currently it is available in all Trans Java Toll Rest Areas and Trans Sumatra Toll Roads (Palembang Village), as well as on the National Road section.

"The government has prepared SPKLUs on homecoming routes from Merak to Banyuwangi and Bakauheni to Palembang with an average distance between SPKLUs of about 23 km, making it very safe to go home using electric vehicles," said PT PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo. Not only focusing on four-wheeled electric vehicles, the government has also prepared 1,839 units of Public Electric Vehicle Battery Exchange Stations (SPBKLU) and 9,771 units of Public Electric Charging Stations (SPLU) for two-wheeled electric vehicles.

"For SPKLU locations, SPBKLU and SPLU can be accessed through the Electric Vehicle menu on the PLN Mobile Application. And everything is for the convenience of EV users to drive comfortably," added Darmawan.

Darmawan continued, his party continues to innovate in improving services to the community. One of these is realized by adding several features to the PLN Mobile Application, so that people who use electric vehicles are more comfortable in traveling long distances.

"For people who want to go home using electric vehicles now, there is no need to hesitate anymore. PLN has prepared an electric car travel management with the Trip Planner feature in the PLN Mobile application," said Darmawan.

Through the Trip Planner menu, travelers can set the departure point and destination point. Automatically, PLN Mobile will provide recommendations for SPKLU points that are traversed on the route.

In addition, PLN also added the SPKLU hotline pop up button feature in the latest version of the PLN Mobile application which will directly connect customers to the SPKLU customer service Whatsapp number. The hotline can also be accessed via PLN 123 Contact Center and Whatsapp number 08-777-11-1223.

"If people need emergency charging assistance or other assistance related to SPKLU, they can press SPKLU hotline pop-up on the PLN Mobile application. Through this SPKLU special service, we have also alerted 3 mobile SPKLU units that will comb the Jakarta - Cileunyi toll road and the Central Java - East Java toll road," he concluded.
