More Than A Thousand Pilgrims Celebrate Eid Al-Fitr At Surau Buya Lubuak Landua, April 9

PASAMAN BARAT- More than a thousand worshipers gathered at Surau Buya Lubuak Landua in Pasaman District, West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra, to carry out Eid prayers on the morning of Tuesday 9 April. Although the implementation schedule is different from that set by the government, the implementation of prayer takes place safely and smoothly.

Zikra Hidayat, a community leader in Lubuak Landua, stated that the congregation had been fasting for 30 days. They started fasting one day earlier than the government set out, and based on this calculation, they celebrated Eid on that day.

"The congregation has been fasting Ramadan for 30 days. Starting fasting for one day compared to the government. Based on this calculation, Eid al-Fitr prayers are carried out today," he said.

The congregation who attended came from various regions, including Malampah, Tigo Nagari District, Pasaman Regency, Duo Koto Pasaman, even from Madina, North Sumatra. Some of them are worshipers of Buya Lubuak Landia who have been in surau or mushalla for the past month.

"The congregation is quite crowded. Some were forced to be outside the prayer room because the inside was full," he said.

The excitement of the implementation of Eid prayers can be seen from the enthusiasm of the congregation who packed the prayer room, even some of them were forced to pray outside because the room was full.

In the implementation of Eid prayers, the congregation looks very solemn and wise in carrying out worship. The event was continued with a sermon and prayer together after the prayer was over. After that, several worshipers shook hands with each other while enjoying fishing prohibitions that are close to the location of the prayer room.

The tradition of performing Eid prayers in Surau Lubuak Landua one day before the government schedule is nothing new, because the congregation has fasted one day earlier. The Eid celebration in this surau begins with takbiran and the torch relay on the previous Monday night (8/4).
