DKI Satpol PP Intensify Patrols To Anticipate Convoys To Brawls

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Satpol PP is intensifying patrols to create conditions in the DKI Jakarta area to prevent and anticipate convoy actions to brawls that disturb the public.

"We are working with the Police and the TNI so that Jakarta remains safe and orderly ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri," said Head of DKI Jakarta Satpol PP Arifin as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, April 8.

Arifin said security was carried out against the action of youth convoys on the streets and the anticipation of brawls between students and between residents.

Arifin said the Satpol PP together with the TNI-Polri managed to secure 132 students and evidence consisting of 51 motorcycles, 17 firecrackers, and eight flags on Sunday (7/4).

The student was arrested because he was proven to be carrying firecrackers and flags, as well as carrying out a convoy that could potentially fight.

The students and evidence were taken to the Tanah Abang Police, Central Jakarta, and Cengkareng Police, West Jakarta, for further investigation.

"We have secured the most students in the Central Jakarta City area as many as 107 students and West Jakarta City as many as 25 students," said Arifin.

During this activity, the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP managed to disperse a convoy of vehicles located on Jalan Kyai Tapa and Jalan Lada, West Jakarta.

Patrols by East Jakarta City Satpol PP officers together with elements of the TNI-Polri also managed to disperse a convoy of youths around the Jalan Pemuda area and Jalan Matraman Raya.

Arifin advised students and youth in Jakarta to keep the atmosphere conducive, safe, and orderly during the month of Ramadan, especially ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1445 H.

"Let us restrain ourselves and respect each other in the implementation of fasting in this month of Ramadan. Together we keep the situation orderly and conducive in facing Eid al-Fitr celebrations and Eid holidays," said Arifin.
