Polda Metro Jaya Targets Two-Wheeled Vehicle Users To Socialize Homecoming Safety

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya is making various efforts to maintain the smooth homecoming of Lebaran 2024. One of the programs is the socialization of safety and security of homecoming, especially for two-wheeled riders. "We are carrying out enhanced activities, namely in the socialization of homecoming safety this year, especially the main targets are motorcycle users," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Police Usman, as reported by Antara, Sunday, March 31.

In a written statement received in Jakarta, Sunday, Latif hopes that the people of Jakarta will not go home on motorbikes. "Take advantage of public transportation, especially for which the distance exceeds 50 kilometers, 80 kilometers. Moreover, 100 kilometers and above must use public transportation," he said.

Latif said, if people are forced to use two-wheeled vehicles, a number of requirements must be considered. Among other things, carrying a load does not exceed the limit, in particular vehicles cannot ride more than three people. "We continue to socialize these efforts so that they are really orderly to carry out this homecoming activity," he said. In addition, the Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of Polda Metro Jaya will establish a number of posts on the main lanes of two-wheeled vehicles, namely Kalimalang and Kalideres. "The main lane of two-wheeled to the east is Kalimalang, the route to the west is Daan Mogot Kalideres to Tangerang," he said.

Latif explained that his party would carry out educational repressive activities. Every violation must be dealt with, of course, educational actions. "Yes, it is hoped that if they (homecomers) no matter how small the violation will be, we will take action," he said.

However, this action does not mean that a ticket must be issued. "We reprimand, we remind, yes, maybe we will turn it around to repair the luggage first, we will remind the more content," he said. All must be prepared early," he said.
