Head of the Public Relations Bureau of the Secretariat General of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense Brigadier General TNI Edwin Adrian Sumantha when contacted in Jakarta, Sunday, explained the Minister of Defense's visit to China to strengthen cooperation between Indonesia and China, especially in the defense sector.

Prabowo's visit to China was first announced by Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lin Jian during a press conference on Friday (29/3). Lin mentioned Prabowo's visit at President Xi's invitation.
Lin, in an official broadcast issued by China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized that China is the first country Prabowo has visited since he became a elected presidential candidate. For Lin, it shows the close relationship between Indonesia and China.
