Penabrak Pasutri Taxi Driver To Death In Soetta Airport Area Detained

JAKARTA - Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police (Soetta), Tangerang, Banten, revealed that a taxi driver with the initials Y (27) hit a married couple in an accident on Jalan Parameter Selatan, Soetta International Airport Area on Monday (25/3), faces up to 6 years in prison.

The Lakalantas Unit of the Soetta Airport Police named Y as a suspect, as a result of hitting the victim to death in the accident incident.

"The person concerned has been detained and investigators are still investigating the case because the accident resulted in 2 deaths," said Deputy Chief of Police of Soetta Airport, AKBP Ronald Fredy Christian Sipayung, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 29.

He explained that the fatal accident was known to be due to the suspect's negligence. This taxi driver has been operating since 02.00 WIB in the morning.

The driver is suspected of experiencing fatigue which caused him to lose focus while driving and hit a passing motorcycle rider.

"So we saw that the person concerned was also physically exhausted when the accident occurred," he explained.

Meanwhile, Head of Lakalantas Polresta Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Ipda Agus Mulyadi said, suspect Y was charged with Article 310 paragraph (4) Juncto paragraph (1) and paragraph (3) which resulted in the death of another person, being sentenced to a maximum imprisonment of 6 years and/or a maximum fine of IDR 12 million.

"Ayat (1) concerning every person driving a motorized vehicle whose negligence resulted in traffic accidents with vehicle damage and or goods as referred to in Article 229 paragraph (2), shall be punished with imprisonment for a maximum of 6 months and/or a maximum fine of Rp. 1 million," he said.

Previously, two motorcyclists died in a traffic accident on Jalan Parameter Selatan, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Area, on Monday (25/03).

The incident occurred this morning at 06.45 WIB. Where, two vehicles traveling from the direction of the South Parimeter between a taxi car with license plate number B-1791-SUA and a motorcycle with license plate number B-3549-CRO.

As a result of the incident, there were two victims who died from a motorcycle rider who was a married couple with the initials P (59) and SN (46).
