Said Aqil Becomes The President Commissioner Of KAI, Stafsus Erick Thohir: He Has A Lot Of Experience In Managing A Business

JAKARTA - Special Staff to the Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir, Arya Sinulingga, explained the appointment of Chairman of PBNU Said Aqil Siradj as the main commissioner concurrently as independent commissioner of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero). According to Arya Sinulingga, the reason for the appointment was because Said Aqil had a lot of experience in business management.

"So Kiai Said Aqil is also the ICDX commissioner of commodities and derivatives, so he already has a lot of experience in business management and as a commissioner," said Arya Sinulingga to reporters, Wednesday, March 3.

With his background, said Arya, Said Aqil understands company management. Arya called this a consideration in the appointment of Said Aqil as the commut of PT KAI.

"That's the main thing for us that he had experience as a commissioner and commissioner," he said.

Another reason, said Arya, is that the Ministry of BUMN and state-owned companies, in this case KAI, really need a community leader like Said Aqil.

"So that later we will further help our BUMNs. So he can build national values in BUMN because he is also a great scholar," he said.

As previously reported, State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Minister Erick Thohir appointed PBNU Chairman Said Aqil Siradj to be the main commissioner and concurrently independent commissioner of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero). The appointment of Said Aqil replaced Jusman Syafii Djamal.

The news regarding Said Aqil's appointment was confirmed by Riza Primadi who was also appointed as the commissioner of the state-owned company.

"Yes, Said Aqil Siroj as the President Commissioner of KAI and concurrently an Independent Commissioner," he said, when contacted by VOI, Wednesday, March 3.

Based on the change in the composition of the Board of Commissioners of PT KAI that VOI received, apart from Said, Erick also appointed several other people.

Among them is Rochadi, who occupies the position of independent commissioner. Then Diah Nataliza became a commissioner.

Finally, Chairul Anwar was appointed as the company commissioner.

According to Riza, Erick Thohir also retains several names on the old board of commissioners. They are, Pungky Sumadi, Criss Kuntadi and Freddy Haris. Erick also did not change the position of the board of directors.
