Illegal Logging Action In Mount Tambora NTB National Park, 3 Officers Arrested

The illegal logging in Gunung Tambora National Park (TN), West Nusa Tenggara Regency (NTB) was thwarted by the joint apparatus.

From this activity, a pickup truck carrying pieces of wood was allegedly the result of the illegal logging.

"We confiscated it because of this pickup, we saw that we brought wood out of the door of the national park area," said the Commander of the 1614/Dompu Kodim Lieutenant Colonel Riyan Oktiya Virajati in a written statement, Tuesday, March 26, which was confiscated by Antara.

Officers also confiscated seven pieces of sonokeling wood with a diameter of 50 centimeters, cutting machines, and fuel.

"Therefore, we have arrested three men in the pickup on suspicion of illegal logging in the national park area," he said.

This arrest took place on Saturday, March 23 afternoon. From the pickup caught by the field patrol team at Pintu I TNGT, Sori Mangge Hamlet, Sori Tatanga Village, Pekat District, three men with the initials AG (43), PA (52), and SR (18) were arrested.

The three of them are residents of Ta'a Village, Kempo District, Dompu Regency.

"The three perpetrators have been brought by the Law Enforcement Team (law enforcement) from forestry. We are still confiscating evidence of vehicles and others," he said.
