JAKARTA - Deputy Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK), Saldi Isra, revealed the technicality of the preliminary examination of the handling of the 2024 Presidential Election Result Dispute (PHPU) case which will be held on Wednesday 27 March.

"On the 27th, we will hear the petition from candidate pair number one from morning to noon. Then, afternoon after resting until the afternoon, we will hear the second application (PHPU for the presidential election)," said Saldi when met at the Constitutional Court Building, Jakarta, Monday, March 25, confiscated by Antara.

He said the technicality was discussed at the Hakim Consultative Meeting (RPH) on Monday morning, as well as for other trials.

"Earlier, we discussed the technical issues of the trial and we have also started to calculate the day, such as when the time for submitting information and all kinds of things," he said.

The discussion between judges was carried out considering that the handling of the PHPU case for the presidential election had a working period of 14 days. Therefore, it is also technically regulated so that the handling process does not pass from that limit.

"We will determine, for example, if anyone wants to apply for an expert, it must be explained what expert A wants to say. If you want to file a witness, what do you want to say to witness A so that it is clear and between witnesses is not adjacent to each other," he explained.

He said the technical matters that had been determined had been submitted to the petitioners.

In addition, the meeting also discussed the readiness of the Constitutional Court staff to support the trial process, especially the readiness of substitute clerks and case analysts.

Saldi emphasized that the handling of the PHPU case for the presidential election will be completed within 14 days because it is recorded in the regulations.

"Legally, 14 working days must be completed. This is not a matter of being sure or not, but must be a maximum of 14 working days," he said.

It is known that the stages of recording the applicant's application in the Constitutional Case Registration Book (e-BRPK) and the issuance of the Constitutional Case Registration Deed (ARPK) of the Presidential Election PHPU were held on Monday.

The stages of submitting applications as related parties were also held from Monday to Tuesday, March 26.

Then, the preliminary examination stage was held on Wednesday 27 March and the trial examination stage as well as the submission of the respondent's answer, information from related parties, and a statement was held on Thursday 28 March.

Next is the trial examination stage held on April 1-18, 2024 and the stage of the pronouncement of the verdict or stipulation will be held on April 22, 2024.
