BMKG Predicts Most Areas Of North Sulawesi Potentially Extreme Weather

MANADO - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) estimates that most areas of North Sulawesi have the potential for extreme weather in the next few days. "BMKG issued an early warning of extreme weather on March 25-27, 2024," said BMKG Coordinator for Observation and Information at the Sam Ratulangi Manado Meteorological Station, Ben A Molle in Manado, Antara, Sunday, March 24. He said that some to most districts and cities in North Sulawesi have the potential to rain with moderate to heavy intensity with lightning and strong winds. Therefore, he hopes that residents will be careful when carrying out activities during extreme weather because of the potential for floods, landslides and fallen trees. "BMKG will update extreme weather data and information through verified channels," he said. Ben explained that on March 24, 2024, the South Bolaang Mongondow Regency and Sitaro Islands Regency have the potential for extreme weather. The following day, it is estimated that this will occur in Minahasa Regency, South Minahasa Regency, North Minahasa Regency, Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Bolaang Mongondow Regency, South Bolaang Mongondow Regency, East Bolaang Mongondow Regency, and Sangihe Islands Regency.

Meanwhile, on March 27, 2024, areas with the potential for extreme weather include South Minahasa Regency, Minahasa Regency, Kotamobagu City, Bolaang Mongondow Regency, East Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Bolaang Mongondow Regency, South Bolaang Mongondow Regency, Sitaro Islands Regency, Sangihe Islands Regency and Talaud Islands Regency.
