JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion appealed to the public not to be tempted by travel agencies offering special and low-cost Hajj services, because they are prone to fraud.
"We urge the public not to be tempted by the cheap Hajj slogan. Make sure in the services they provide it in what form," said Director of Umrah and Special Hajj Development Jaja Jaelani in Jakarta, Sunday, March 24.
Jaja said there were many offers for Hajj without queues. In fact, the Ministry of Religion has divided the allocation of departure quotas, both for regular and special congregations.
Therefore, the public must be vigilant. Because many cases encountered with vendor problems failed to provide tickets and visas, resulting in the failure of the congregation to leave.
There are also cases of pilgrims who are neglected because the provider does not provide services in Saudi Arabia.
One of the efforts to avoid being deceived is to check the list of licensed travel providers or not through the Computerization System for Umrah Integrated Management and Special Hajj (Siskopatuh).
"Right now, there are no less than 2,573 trips serving Umrah to the holy land. Don't be tempted by cheap packages, you can check whether the travel agencies that offer it are licensed or not," he said.
Meanwhile, regarding the existence of PIHK and PPIU which had made cases because they were proven to have neglected their congregations, the Ministry of Religion has given sanctions in the form of termination.
"Three trips that we have stopped. First, temporary suspension. The other two are freezing," he said.
