"I congratulate you on your success in the general election for the upcoming President of the Republic of Indonesia," Scholz said in a congratulatory statement to Prabowo, as stated by the German Embassy in Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Friday, March 22.
Scholz alluded to the close friendship that Indonesia and Germany have.
"I welcome the opportunity to develop our strategic partnership further in maintaining peace and security based on international law, in improving economic relations, as well as in our joint commitment to overcoming the climate crisis," he said.
He also expressed hope that Prabowo would be able to carry out his duties in leading the next Indonesian government.
