Surya Paloh Opens The Opportunity For NasDem To Join The Prabowo-Gibran Coalition

Chairman of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh was visited by President-elect Prabowo Subianto at NasDem Tower Jakarta, Friday, March 22.

Chairman of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh opened up his party space to join the government coalition after Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka served as President-Vice President for the period 2024-2029.

However, Surya admitted that whether NasDem was close to the Prabowo coalition at this time was not a priority for his party.

"Fifty-fifty, possibility, yes," said Surya after receiving Prabowo's visit and holding a closed meeting at NasDem Tower, Gondangdia, Central Jakarta, Friday, March 22.

Surya admitted that NasDem, who carried Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar in the 2024 presidential election, still has not determined whether to move closer to the new government coalition led by Prabowo. He said he was still waiting for the right moment to decide.

"We will see future developments," he said.

Previously, President-elect Prabowo Subianto admitted that he invited NasDem to join his government after being sworn in in October.

Prabowo conveyed this confession when he met Surya Paloh at NasDem Tower to thank him for his congratulations.

"I always offer, I always invite," said Prabowo.

Some time ago, Surya claimed that currently his party did not want to join the government coalition. However, Surya has not confirmed that he will remain an opposition if Prabowo-Gibran leads the country.

"Are you going to join the new government, huh? I don't think joining the new government is a priority, yes. The possibility of continuing to join or not joining, the position is the same today," said Surya at NasDem Tower, Gondangdia, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, March 20.

However, Surya admitted that NasDem still opened space for political communication to other camps, including the Prabowo-Gibran coalition to the Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD camp.

"Relationships in political communication that have been well established so far must be maintained, must be maintained. NasDem's efforts to make this political communication disbursed, to see and have the same determination and hope, so that the process of traveling for the development of our national life can run better," he explained.
