JAKARTA - Russia will not interfere in any elections and will cooperate with any elected US president, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview with broadcaster Rossiya 1 and RIA Novosti.

Earlier in February 2024, when asked who would be better for Russia among future US leaders Biden or Trump Putin said in an interview with reporter Rossiya 1 Pavel Zarubin Biden was his choice.

Putin put this forward because Biden was considered "more experienced" and "more predictable" and he was "a strong politician".

The Russian leader said Moscow would cooperate "with any US leader trusted by the American people".

"We do not intervene in any form in any election. And, as I have said many times, we will cooperate with any leader trusted by the American people, American voters," Putin said as quoted by ANTARA from Sputnik, Wednesday, March 13.

Commenting on the US election cycle in 2024, Putin said that US elections are increasingly uncivilized and the US political system cannot be claimed to be democratic.
