JAKARTA - KPU member Idham Holik said the number of special voters (DPK) in West Papua which reached 13,037 people was classified as normal.
This was conveyed by Idham when the witness of the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 1 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar questioned the reason for the higher number of DPKs than the additional voter list (DPTb) which was around 4,071 people in the plenary meeting to recapitulate the results of the national vote at the KPU office, Jakarta.
He explained that if the number of DPK 13,037 people was percentageed with the number of DPT as many as 385,465 people, then the percentage reached 3.38 percent of DPK who exercised their voting rights on voting day.
According to Idham, based on his experience of checking DPK in various regions of Indonesia, there are still areas whose percentage reaches 6 percent.
Therefore, he assessed that the 3.38 percent figure was still normal for DPK in various regions of Indonesia.
"According to my experience and to my knowledge, I checked the DPK in various regions in Indonesia, some even reached 6 percent. This means that personally I scored 3.38 percent or 13,037 voters, basically still within a normal range for DPK in various regions in Indonesia," explained Idham as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 13.
Nevertheless, continued Idham, the opinion of witness Anies-Muhaimin will be a special note for the KPU in the process of updating the voter list for the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Election.
"Please note, yes, the chairman and members," he said.
He said voters who enter the DPK must later be inputted and managed properly. This is so that those who were previously in the DPK group enter the DPT.
"This DPK will ask for input, managed properly, so that later when updating the voter list for the benefit of the regional elections later, they will become DPT and not become DPK anymore," said Idham.
