BMKG Bali Issues Early Warning Of Heavy Rain Accompanied By Lightning While Nyepi

DENPASAR - Center for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BBMKG) Region III Denpasar issued an early warning of the potential for rain with moderate to heavy intensity accompanied by lightning and strong winds of short duration estimated from 9-11 March 2024, including during Nyepi Day.

"The public is advised to remain vigilant and careful," said Head of BBMKG Region III Denpasar Cahyo Nugroho in Denpasar, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, March 9.

Denpasar BBMKG maps on March 9-10, 2024, the weather warning is expected to occur throughout Bali, namely nine/city districts.

The nine regencies/cities are Badung Regency, Denpasar City, Tabanan Regency, Gianyar, Klungkung, Karangasem, Buleleng, Bangli, and Jembrana.

Then on March 11 or to coincide with Nyepi Day Saka New Year 1946, the weather warning has the potential for moderate to heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds of short duration is expected to occur in seven regencies/cities in Bali.

The seven regencies/cities are Klungkung, Karangasem, Gianyar, Denpasar City, Badung, Bangli, and Buleleng Regencies.

The BMKG asked the public to be aware of the impact of disasters that could arise, including strong winds, fallen trees, lightning, floods, puddles and landslides.

In addition, he said, users and operators of sea transportation services, fishermen, and marine tourism.

He also appealed to people who are active around coastal areas to be aware of the potential for sea waves with a height of up to two meters or more, which is expected to occur in the Bali Sea, South Bali Strait, Lombok Strait and South Indian Ocean Bali.
