KPU Stops Sirekap Graphics, Gerindra: Good, Because It's Not A Referral To Election Results

JAKARTA - Secretary General (Secretary General) of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani positively welcomed the KPU's decision to stop showing the graph on the election recapitulation information system (Sirekap) on the 2024.kpu.go.id election site.

He said Sirekap was only a temporary vote counting tool, not the main reference for the KPU in determining the vote acquisition in the 2024 General Election.

"If it's closed, it's fine. That's good because it's not a reference for the election results," said Muzani, Thursday, February 8.

Muzani said, it must be admitted that the Sirekap data display had indeed caused a polemic due to its accuracy which was considered weak.

According to him, it doesn't matter if Sirekap is not shown, because the KPU is also recapitulating manually which will be used as the main reference for the results of the 2024 General Election.

"The attitude on the one hand caused a stir because the accuracy was also weak. Second, the KPU turned out to do the calculations manually, Sirekap did not describe the results," he said.

"It caused a stir. There were even problems at the beginning because some parties got high-level votes or some legislative candidates suddenly got fantastic votes, for example like that so this caused problems," he concluded.
