BANJARNEGARA - Two brothers were killed by lightning while riding a motorcycle on Jalan Sikumpul Village, Kalibening District, Banjarnegara Regency, Central Java, last Tuesday.

Kalibening Police Chief, AKP Sardjupri, said the incident was first discovered when residents found the two victims lying on the road.

"Members of the Kalibening Police and medical officers from the Kalibening Health Center came to the location. Then after arriving at the scene, two people were actually found lying down," said Sardjupri, Wednesday, February 6.

The two victims suspected of being struck by lightning were found lying with a Yamaha NMax motorcycle with police number R 3868 NM. The victims with the initials F (22) and IP (25) are residents of Pesantren Village, Wanayasa District, Banjarnegara Regency

"After being examined by medical officers, the two victims were declared dead as a result of being struck by lightning," said Sardjupri.

Sardjupri explained that F suffered burns to his chest, stomach, and several other body parts, as well as bleeding his ears, mouth, and nose.

Meanwhile, IP suffered lacerations to the head, burns, and bruises to the chest, as well as abrasions to several parts of the body.
