Inspector General Napoleon Concerning CCTV Evidence Allegedly Acceptance Of Joko Tjandra's Bribery

JAKARTA - Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte again touched on the electronic evidence in the form of CCTV which was deemed not proving that bribery was not criminalized. Because the CCTV footage only looked at the condition of the TNCC National Police building lobby.

Napoleon's statement was conveyed at the trial with a duplicate agenda or Napoleon's response to the Prosecutor's replication in the case of alleged bribery for the removal of red notice for Joko Tjandra.

"All of the electronic evidence in the form of CCTV that the witness confirmed was that the entire lobby of the TNCC building at the Police Headquarters did not prove that we had received any money", said Napoleon during a trial at the Corruption Court, Jakarta, Monday, March 1.

Also, Napoleon said that the series of events referred to by the public prosecutor as a process for the occurrence of a criminal act was also odd.

The reason is, it is not only the International Relations Division (Divhubinter) that has an office in that building. But many divisions also use the building as a workspace.

"Even though the Prosecutor argued that the CCTV footage evidence was a series, in fact, the evidence was not relevant or assumed to be in our accusations considering that the TNCC building is a building that is not just our own office", he said.

For that reason, Napoleon asked the panel of judges to reject all charges from the prosecutor.

"We conclude that the prosecutors' replication is not supported by legal facts based on the legal analysis in the trial. Therefore, we stick to our Pleidoi which we have a readout", he said.

For information, in the case of alleged bribery for the removal of a red notice, Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment.

Inspector General Napoleon is said to have accepted bribes from Joko Tjandra. The bribe was intended to remove Joko Tjandra's name from the red notice list.

When receiving the bribe, Inspector General Napoleon was still the Head of the International Relations Division of the National Police. He is said to have received 200 thousand Singapore dollars and 370 thousand US dollars from Tommy Sumardi.
