Prabowo-Gibran Wants To Build 3 Million Houses, This Is The Response Of The BTN Boss

Presidential candidate (candidate) number 02 Prabowo Subianto and vice presidential candidate (cawapres) Gibran Rakabuming Raka have a program that will be run in the upcoming government. Where Prabowo-Gibran will build 3 million houses.

President Director of PT Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) Nixon LP Napitupulu gave his response regarding this matter. He considered the program to be very good if the funding scheme was carried out carefully.

"We can see from his vision and mission, he (Prabowo) won. The president has seen what the next 5 years look like," said Nixon after the BTN's new logo launch event, at Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, Sunday, March 3.

"If we study clear vision and mission, there have been 3 million houses built. It is stated that there are villages, coastal, urban or urban areas," continued Nixon.

Nixon explained that for urban areas or urban areas, it is usually a housing development program for Low-Income Communities (MBR) through a subsidized Home Ownership Credit (KPR) scheme.

Meanwhile, BTN is one of the banks that offers subditional mortgage facilities. Where BTN provides a KPR interest rate of 5 percent fixed during the credit period. Also, the amount of down payment for BTN mortgage subsidies starts from 1 percent and gets down payment assistance.

Meanwhile, continued Nixon, for rural areas, the assistance provided is usually in the form of the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) program or renovations.

"If you look at the experience so far, what has been built using subsidies is urban areas. rural areas have a pattern of assistance such as BSPS or home compensation or renovation. The pattern doesn't have to be KPR, you don't have to be in debt," he explained.

Nixon also mentioned the housing backlog. He said the current number of backlogs in Indonesia is very large reaching 12.7 million. Even so, he is optimistic, the number of backlogs will continue to decrease in the future, even though there will be a new leadership transition in 2024.

The housing backlog is the condition of the gap between the number of houses being built and the number of houses needed by the people. This means that the quantity of houses that have not been or are not handled.

"We have to finish (in the next era of government)," he said.
