NTT DPRD Members Arrested By BNN Positive For Methamphetamine, But Freed For User Status

KUPANG - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT) confirmed that NTT DPRD member Rocky Winaryo (RW) and the head of his success team with the initials Beno tested positive for using methamphetamine.

"Sudah tes urine. Mereka positif menggunakan sabu-sabu," kata Kepala BNN Provinsi NTT Brigjen Riki Yanuarfi Sikumbang dilansir ANTARA, Rabu, 28 Februari.

This was conveyed in connection with the results of the arrest of a personal assistant to a member of the NTT DPRD, Rocky Winaryo, named Wulan, who was arrested while taking goods at a fast delivery service and escorting him to Rocky and Beno on Monday (26/2).

In addition to his assistant, on Monday (26/2) the NTT BNN personnel also arrested Rocky and Benu at Jalan SHOOTing Center, Fatululi Village, Oebobo District, Kupang City.

After being arrested, the investigative team then conducted an examination of the three. Riki said the positive NTT DPRD member was known to be only a user. Meanwhile, Wulan is known as the person who was ordered to take the item.

Therefore, both of them were released on the grounds that Rocky was only a addict with a moderate or situational level.

Meanwhile, Wulan was released only as a witness, but BNN confirmed that it would continue to investigate Wulan in that case.

"The decision to release RW, after we had a meeting with the medical team, the prosecutor's office and the NTT Police," he said.

Meanwhile, Beno is known as a person who is on the wanted list (DPO) in Jakarta, because he often orders methamphetamine from Jakarta.

"The methamphetamine belonged to Beno after being questioned, and he often ordered it from Jakarta," he said.
