JAKARTA - The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police has begun to prepare for the implementation of Operation Ketupat 2024 in order to secure the Eid homecoming flow by conducting a survey on the Jakarta-Semarang toll road, Central Java.

Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Inspector General Aan Suhanan said the Jakarta-Semarang toll road section is ready to be used during this year's Eid homecoming, and it is certain that there will be no work activities before the holiday takes place.

"Security readiness from the Korlantas Polri and relevant stakeholders is quite ready, both toll roads and arterial routes," said Aan as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 27.

The results of his review obtained information from the Ditlantas Polda West Java and Ditlantas Polda Central Java that the facilities and infrastructure along the homecoming route are ready to be traversed by vehicle users, several toll roads equipped with CCTC, traffic counting in Cipalti and CCTV in Cisamdawu which are integrated with the KM 29 control post.

"From the predictions of friends at BUJT, especially Jasa Marga, it is predicted that there will be an increase of 5-6 percent of the people on the Eid al-Fitr holiday who will leave Jabodetabek, there are almost 200 million Indonesians who will use it or will carry out homecoming and then travel," he explained.

Meanwhile, for the Central Java region, he continued, based on the evaluation of the Ditlantas Polda Central Java, it was stated that there were three clusters of places that would be of concern.

According to him, the rest area is still a jointly managed obstacle point, how to overcome people who are going to rest areas so that traffic flow runs smoothly. In addition, the problems that often occur are because drivers who do not have an e-tol balance right at the toll gate, causing a slowdown in traffic flow.

"We will limit the transportation of goods later, especially the three-axis and above, to reduce the burden of traffic flow on toll roads," he said.

Meanwhile, for tourist routes, continued Aa, it will be a major concern and it is necessary to evaluate the management of traffic, especially on tourist routes or tourist destinations.
