US-England Reportedly Attacks Yemeni Capital, Targets 8 Locations Claimed To Be Controlled By Houthis

JAKARTA - The United States (US) and Britain have launched airstrikes in Yemen's capital, Sanaa.

This was reported by Al Masirah television, which is affiliated with the Houthis on Saturday, February 24 evening local time, which was confiscated by Antara.

However, Al Masirah did not elaborate further on the attack.

Meanwhile, the US Department of Defense's Office at the Pentagon explained through coordinated efforts, the US and UK together with support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands and New Zealand launched attacks on military targets in the Houthis-controlled region.

The coalition forces targeted eight locations, including Houthi underground weapons storage facilities, missile warehouse facilities, one-way air strike unmanned systems, air defense systems, a number of radars, and one helicopter, to later disrupt and reduce the capabilities of Iran-backed Houthi militias in carrying out unstable and reckless attacks on US and international ships that transit legally in the Red Sea, the Bab AI Mandeb Strait, and Aden Bay, the Pentagon said.

Yemen's Houthi group has targeted cargo ships owned or operated by Israeli companies or transporting goods to and from Israel in the Red Sea and Aden Bay.

This was done as a form of solidarity with the Gaza Strip which was attacked by Israeli forces.

With tensions rising as a result of a joint US and UK attack on the Houthi targets in Yemen, the group declared that they considered all US and British ships legitimate targets of the military.
