Czech And Argentine Tourists Who Become Yoga Orchids Deported From Bali

Singaraja Immigration Office deported Czech and Argentine foreigners who abused residence permits in Singaraja, Bali, Thursday (22/2/2024) ANTARA/HO-Imigration Singaraja

DENPASAR - Singaraja Immigration Office, Buleleng Regency, Bali expelled foreign nationals from Czechs and Argentina for entering Indonesia with a tourist permit but working as a yoga instructor.

"The two foreigners hold visas on arrival (VoA) but are yoga instructors and have been actively promoted on social media," said Singaraja Immigration Head Hendra Setiawan as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 23.

The two foreigners with the initials DP from the Czech Republic and AV from Argentina arrived in Bali on Saturday, February 3, 2024, with visa facilities on arrival (VoA) and valid until March 3, 2024.

After going through surveillance and monitoring operations on social media, the Singaraja Immigration team then headed to Abang District, Karangasem and arrested both of them on Tuesday (20/2).

The lovers DP, 33-year-old woman and AV, the 33-year-old man, was then questioned at Singaraja Immigration and admitted to trying to be a yoga instructor for the first time.

The two of them were then temporarily detained in the detention room of the Immigration Office in Singaraja awaiting deportation or forced repatriation to their respective countries.

The DP was deported through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on Thursday (22/2) and the AV was deported to Argentina scheduled for Thursday (29/2).

Based on Singaraja Immigration data, since January until now there have been six people who have been sent back to their country and during 2023 there have been 17 foreigners who have also been deported.

The Singaraja Immigration Office oversees three regencies for operations in Bali, namely Buleleng, Jembrana, and Karangasem.

VoA is given to foreigners, one of which is for tourism and not for work permits.

The VoA period is a maximum of 30 days and can be extended to a maximum of one extension for a period of 30 days at the immigration office whose working area includes the residence of foreigners and cannot be transferred.
