Mardani Maming Is Suspected Of Leaving Sukamiskin Prison, Directorate General Of PAS Says This

JAKARTA - Former Regent of Tanah Bumbu Mardani H. Maming who is a convict in a corruption case of mining business license (IUP) is suspected of leaving the Sukamiskin Correctional Institution (Lapas), Bandung, West Java.

From the manifest or passenger data circulating, he is suspected of traveling by air using Citilink Indonesia on Monday, February 19. Mardani Maming departed from Syamsuddin Noor-Banjarmasin International Airport (BDJ) for Surabaya at 19.40 WIB.

Responding to this, the Head of Public Relations and Protocol of the Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjen PAS) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Deddy Eduar Eka Saputra Eka Saputra denied that Mardani Maming had been released outside the prison. He is said to be undergoing a judicial review (PK) session at the Banjarmasin District Court.

"Based on information from the Sukamiskin Class I Prison, he officially attended the PK trial at the Banjarmasin District Court," said Deddy when confirmed by reporters, Monday, February 19.

Deddy ensured that the trip was also officially escorted by the police and prisons. So, Mardani is not just free to travel.

As previously reported, the KPK sent Mardani Maming to Sukamiskin Prison. There, he will serve a sentence of 12 years in prison according to the decision of the Supreme Court.

In addition to corporal punishment, the former PDI-P politician (PDIP) also had to pay compensation of Rp110.6 billion. This sentence was imposed because Mardani Maming was proven to have received a bribe of Rp118 billion related to PT Bangun Karya Pratama Lestari's coal mining business license to PT Prolindo Cipta Nusantara.
