Bawaslu Investigate Election Violations In 9 Regions In West Java, Most Of The Money Politics

BANDUNG - The West Java Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) revealed that they are investigating alleged violations of the 2024 general election in nine regions, namely related to campaigns during periods of calm and money politics (money politics).

West Java Bawaslu chairman Zacky Mohammad Zam Zam said that the first nine areas were in the city of Bandung as many as two cases, which were findings of campaigns in calm times.

The two cities of Sukabumi have two reports related to money politics (money politics), the three Cianjur regencies with one case related to the Hand Catch Operation (OTT) of alleged money politics.

Fourth, Tasikmalaya Regency as many as three cases related to money politics whose status is still in the tracing stage, the five campaigns related to campaigns in peace, the six cities of Depok related to money politics are still in the tracing stage.

The seven Cimahi cities have two cases related to campaigns in peace, the eight Sukabumi regencies have one case of alleged money politics, and the ninth in Bekasi City as many as two cases of alleged money politics.

"So in these nine regencies and cities, the stages of handling violations that have been registered have entered the clarification stage, later those that have not been registered will be full of material formals and so on are still in the tracing stage," said Zacky, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 15.

In addition to alleged violations, Zacky explained that Bawaslu also oversees the distribution of logistics for the 2024 General Election.

In the process, there are several obstacles in the distribution process, such as there are less representative storage warehouses, weather constraints so that the distribution process takes a long time, and there are warehouses that experience leakage.

In Majalengka Regency, he said, in Dawuan sub-district, there was one wet ballot box, two sound cities were damaged.

"Meanwhile, in Bandung City, precisely in Arcamanik District, there is a shortage of ballots of 141 types of Regional Representative Council (DPRD) Bandung City Electoral Area IV", he said.
