KPU Chair Invites Community To Document Calculations At TPS

Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy'ari invited the entire community to document the general election process at the polling stations (TPS).

"Anyone Indonesian citizen, including voters, journalists, monitors can document the voting processes at the polling station," Hasyim said in a "Pidato to the chairman of the KPU ahead of the February 14, 2024" vote in Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 13.

Not only on voting, but the public can also document the vote counting process that will be carried out before the TPS closes.

"And also document the counting of votes processes at polling stations by recording, taking photos, taking pictures, or taking videos," he said.

Later, the vote counting activity will start from counting votes for the presidential election, then proceed to the elections for the DPR, DPD, Provincial DPRD, and Regency/City DPRD.

Hasyim said the invitation was in order to avoid actions that led to vote fraud or manipulation.

"This is in order for us to jointly maintain accountability, maintain transparency, and also maintain the integrity of the election process, especially peak activities, namely voting and vote counting at polling stations," he said.

Ahead of the voting which will be held tomorrow, Wednesday (14/2), the KPU also invites the entire community to jointly oversee the vote count results so that their authenticity is maintained.

"We invite together to oversee the results of the vote calculations so that their authenticity is maintained starting from the polling station level to the national level," he said.
