Jokowi-Megawati Meeting, Palace: Open President In Continuation With National Leaders

JAKARTA - The Presidential Special Staff Coordinator, Ari Dwipayana, said that President Joko Widodo was always open to keeping in touch with national figures. This was conveyed by Ari in response to the statement by the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X who claimed to be asked to bridge Jokowi's meeting with the fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia as well as PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri. "The president is always open to meeting, keeping in touch with national figures. Especially for the good and progress of the nation," Ari said in a short message quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 13.

"The most important thing is that the friendship between national figures will certainly benefit the interests of the nation and state," he said. Jokowi and Megawati's relationship is said to have experienced a stir after the two were suspected of having different support in the 2024 presidential election.
