BEKASI- At least 184,000 campaign props (APK) in Bekasi Regency, West Java, were removed by joint regional government officers and election organizers from the first day of quiescence, Sunday 11 to Tuesday 13 February. "The data collection shows that there are 184,000 campaign props. Until the end of the quiescence period, it will be put in order," said Bekasi Regency Bawaslu Chair Akbar Khadafi quoted by ANTARA, Sunday 11 February. Ordered campaign props, he said, ranging from banners, flags of political parties, billboards, banners, banners, to billboards with various sizes of roads in the area.Akbar said that his party carried out active enforcement of APK from 11 to 13 February 2024. "So, all campaign activities in any method should no longer be carried out by election participants," he said. Control of this APK, he continued, referring to KPU RI Regulation Number 15 of 2023 concerning General Election Campaigns in Article 27 paragraph (3) which stated that the quiet period lasted for 3 days before the D-day voting. Previously, his party had given an appeal to election participants not to carry out campaign activities in any form and remove APK before quiescence. "If there were still APKs in quiescence, we together with a joint team of local governments that brought order," he said. Head of Satpol PP Bekasi Surya Wijaya Regency said that the control of APK by KPU and Bawaslu assisted by a joint team of local governments ranging from Satpol PP, bappeda, fire service, as well as the environment service. The joint officers were divided into five teams based on the task area. Three teams served on the National Road, one team on Jalan Inspeksi Kalimalang, and the other team on the Provincial Roads from Cikarang to Cibarusah.
