JAKARTA - Minister of Research and Technology / Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (Menristek / Head of BRIN) Bambang Brodjonegoro projects that future transportation will be cashless (non-cash) and humanless (without crew).

"I think the core of the future transportation system is cashless and humanless," said the Minister of Research and Technology in a webinar entitled "Building a Digital Ecosystem in the Transportation Industry", quoted from Antara, Thursday, February 25.

Menristek Bambang explained that non-cash payments in the current transportation system have become a lifestyle in itself. The non-cash payment system is considered to provide convenience in the transportation system.

"Slowly but surely, many Indonesians will get used to this cashless," said the Minister of Research and Technology.

Meanwhile, unmanned vehicles are considered to be able to dominate traffic in the future if they succeed in reducing the rate of road accidents due to human negligence.

According to Minister of Research and Technology Bambang Brodjonegoro, unmanned vehicles will reach 60 percent of the total passengers in 2040.

"Because the main reason for unmanned vehicles is to reduce accidents that occur due to human error, we will see if this technology will minimize accidents. If possible, I think unmanned vehicles will be quite dominant," said the Minister of Research and Technology.
