Palestine: Israel's Attack On Rafah Is Unacceptable Violation

JAKARTA - The Palestinians warned that Israel's planned attack on the southern city of Rafah in Gaza, which borders Egypt, was an unacceptable real violation.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the Israeli military to set a double plan to evacuate Palestinians from Rafah - home to more than 1 million people seeking refuge from the war - and to defeat the last battalion of the Hamas group there.

In a statement quoted by the official Palestinian news agency, Wafa, the Palestinian presidency in the West Bank vehemently rejected and condemned Netanyahu's statement about "plans to expand Israel's attack on the densely populated province of Rafah, as reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Saturday, February 10.

The Palestinian presidency said Israel was fully responsible for the consequences of the attack, and also stressed the US government's special responsibility to prevent escalation that could cause disasters.

The Palestinian people will not leave their lands and will not accept forced evictions from their homeland, the presidential office said.

Since the start of Israel's attack on Gaza on October 7, 2023, Israel has ordered residents in northern and central Gaza to flee to the southern part of the region, leading to the current overcrowded conditions in the southern region, especially in Rafah.

Israel continues its attack on Gaza, where at least 27,947 Palestinians have been killed and 67,459 others have been injured since October 7, according to Palestinian health authorities.

Israel's attack was triggered by a cross-border attack launched by Hamas, which Tel Aviv says killed nearly 1,200 victims.

Israeli attacks also forced 85 percent of Gaza's population of refugees amid shortages of food, clean water, and medicine, while 60 percent of infrastructure in the enclave was damaged or destroyed, according to the United Nations.
